With 14 new country houses, the 11th edition of Maison de Campagne captures the best recently finished projects in one of the most active areas of private contemporary architecture in Greece.

In the current edition of Maison de Campagne 2017, the number of residences in the Cyclades is superior, particularly in Paros and Santorini, as well as in Antiparos, Serifos, Mykonos and Tzia, in the wider Greek island area (Skiathos, Thassos, Crete),as well as in the Peloponnese and Cyprus. Holiday residences designed with simplicity but simultaneously with exceptional aesthetics that reflect the modern way of living and satisfy the need for moments of relaxation and freedom.

The edition of Maison de Campagne, apart from Greece and Cyprus, is available at all central press outlets and airports of the following countries: England, Turkey, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Oman, China, Taiwan, Korea and India.

The architecture of luxury suburban houses still exerts special attraction, so much to their architects as well as to a wider audience internationally. Several decades after the legendary Californian developments of case studies, the architectural compositions of villas always push the limits of design and the technological capacities of construction, create new standards and entice the dream.
This year’s 15th bilingual version of Villas includes the most significant completions of this kind from Greek and international architectural firms in Greece and Cyprus, in addition to separate examples from Europe, USA and Asia, as well as very interesting interviews with award-winning Greek architect Tilemahos Andrianopoulos (Tense) and internationally recognized Japanese designer Oki Sato of Nendo studio.

The bookazine MykonosVillas brings together in a luxurious edition, for the fifth time, 14 country houses selected among the best realizations of recent past years on the famous Cycladic island, with the signature of well-known Greek and foreign architectural offices.
The houses of Mykonos form a contemporary architectural style based on the counterpart of uncut stoneworks and white plastered volumes, angular and curved, harsh and smooth. At the same time, the processing of basic elements of Cycladic typology form aesthetically integrated architectural ensembles.

With foundations often on the rocks, the granite masonry and the corresponding open-air formations connect the building with its environment, while differently oriented spaces and framings of the view, alternations of closed and open, light and shadow, converse with the insurmountable elements of the natural space, the dry ground, the sea and wind.
The photographs of the publication highlight the excellent construction quality of the residences, combining the modern technological comforts with hand-made techniques, adapted to present-day conditions, such as stoneworks, pressed cement mortars, wooden constructions and paving.

Being in the second decade of the 21st century, the apartment is actually being transformed in a complex habitation machine, justifying the prophetic aphorism of Le Corbusier nearly a century ago: energy efficiency, lighting design, automation and connectivity of dwelling places are concepts introduced actively in design in recent years and changed the data. However, the apartment as a private space, must reflect the particular characteristics of the personality of its users. The design product should be the result of a dialogue between the architect and the user.

With its 11th edition, the annual international bookazine “Apartments” attempts a tour of the best apartment configurations within the most recent architectural production, selected from different parts of the world and Greece. It also includes two exclusive interviews with world renowned Dutch designer Piet Boon and the internationally recognized Anglo-Indian design office Doshi Levien, of Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien, based in London.
