Deconstructivist aesthetic

This is a bold new approach to commercial design -an innovative exploration rooted in the city’s cultural DNA. In Mayu Town, a hub of the eyewear industry is seizing a fresh start amid economic decline.

Design Philosophy

With a groundbreaking eyewear art showroom, the brand explores the fusion of commerce and culture, paving a bold new path. Set against a backdrop of urban regeneration, the design reimagines the traditional showroom, transforming the space into an artistic landmark. Beyond its commercial origins, it emerges as a daring, era-defining art space with a deconstructivist aesthetic. The design rises above mere functionality, exploring how commercial spaces can organically transform and redefine their role in industrial cities.

Spatial Organization

Guided by light and inspired by geometry, the design employs 45° light angles to craft triangular harmony. The notion of ‘gaze’ emerges as a central theme, orchestrating a playful interplay between sight and setting. Soft membrane lighting concealed within geometric gaps casts a warm glow, enriched by subtle red shadows. Sunlight, reflecting off folded surfaces, creates a shifting choreography of beams -shaping a dramatic, immersive atmosphere.

The interior defies rigid, traditional layouts, embracing a fluid, symbiotic design. The showroom, café, and art bookstore blend seamlessly, creating a dynamic, sensory-driven path. The journey begins at reception, continues through an exhibition atrium, then flows to the café and up to the bookstore. This narrative of sight, smell, and instinct redefines the urban role of commercial spaces. By embedding a growth-oriented spirit, the showroom becomes a cultural hub -more than a retail venue, it is a living piece of the city’s identity.

Material Palette

Columns are reshaped into geometric forms, channeling light to create depth. Eco-friendly artistic coatings unify ceiling, walls, and floor in a soft warm-white finish. The material strategy softens the glow, yielding a continuous sculptural space -intricate yet simple, intimate yet expansive.

The outdoor area acts as a prelude, rejecting traditional gardens in favor of sleek postmodern design. Geometric shapes and glass facades sync with the city’s architectural pulse. This project reimagines commercial models on an urban scale, linking interior, exterior, and surroundings into one shared cultural narrative. The ‘Light Museum’ concept merges commerce, space, and culture into a lifeline for industrial cities.
