Colorful route

The Happy Tooth pediatric dental clinic occupies a 230 m² space on the third floor of an office building in Voula.

Design Philosophy

The central design idea was to create a welcoming and playful environment that reduces children’s anxiety, while at the same time conveying professionalism and functionality for the medical staff.

Spatial Organization

The layout was organized around a central corridor that connects the reception, waiting areas, and examination rooms. Spaces are arranged to allow direct access while clearly separating public and private functions. Treatment and examination rooms were designed with both children’s comfort and dentist ergonomics in mind. The use of colors and playful elements contributes to creating a positive experience for young visitors.

Material Palette

The choice of materials focused on durable and child-friendly surfaces. Wood, warm colors, and textures were combined with modern elements to create an environment that balances familiarity with hygiene and safety. The clinic takes advantage of its third-floor location to allow natural light to flood the interiors. The views toward the city create a sense of openness, while the interior layout reinforces feelings of calmness and protection.

Fluid interior

Diosa is an all-day café/bar located in Agios Georgios Square, in the vibrant heart of Kypseli, Athens. A space that transforms with the passing of the day, shaped by light and atmosphere.

Design Philosophy

By day, soft natural tones highlight textures and materials, creating a calm, earthy ambiance. By night, the lighting deepens and intensifies, giving way to a more intimate, immersive setting. This dual character of Diosa -a relaxed haven for coffee and conversation by day, and a lively bar for drinks and social gatherings by night- is at the core of the project’s architectural approach.

Functional layout

The layout is defined by two structural columns framing a circular wall opening -a subtle yet distinctive architectural gesture that guides movement and sets the rhythm of the interior. Strategically placed mirrored and silver-toned surfaces reflect light in varied ways, adding layers of shifting visual texture and movement throughout the space.

Façade Design & Materials

On the façade, iridescent vinyls and the Diosa logo play with the viewer’s perspective and the changing light of day, echoing the project’s playful and contemporary spirit. A tiled wall featuring a gradient of fading hues introduces a sense of continuity and flow, harmonizing with the lighting scheme and reflective elements to create a coherent and unified visual language. Fluid, luminous, and ever evolving, the design offers a renewed spatial experience with every visit, inviting guests to rediscover it again and again.

Visual flow

From the very first visit to the 98m² apartment in São Paulo, the future owners felt an immediate connection to its history. The exposed concrete structure -with its visible pillars, beams, and raw-finish slabs- carried the marks of time, evoking a sense of authenticity. However, the outdated infrastructure and rigid layout called for a renovation that could preserve the apartment’s original character while meeting contemporary needs.

Design Philosophy

The central challenge was to unify the spaces, fostering a physical and visual flow that would support interaction in everyday activities. For the couple, both of whom work from home, the conventional idea of a closed-off office did not resonate. They sought an integrated, open layout that encouraged connection rather than division. The original floor plan included two bedrooms and a strict separation between the social, service, and private areas. In the renovation, nearly all interior walls were removed -except for those enclosing the powder room and main bedroom. Activity zones are now defined by cabinetry and furniture rather than structural barriers. Three core materials create the base of the design: exposed concrete, which remains visible as a tribute to the building’s history; white-painted masonry, chosen to amplify natural light from the large windows; and wooden plank flooring, which spans the entire apartment except for the bathrooms.

Custom Structures & Furniture

In the entrance, custom Freijó wood cabinetry arranged in an L-shape serves a dual purpose. On one side, it forms a workbench that organizes the home office. Above it, open shelves in the same finish, supported by French brackets, house the couple’s book collection and add a distinctive design touch. On the other side, the cabinetry holds a turntable and handmade speakers -an homage to the owners’ passion for vinyl and music, now deeply embedded in their home life.

At the far end of the apartment, the living room reflects the seamless integration of old and new. A poster brought back from New York decorates the wall, while other vintage furniture punctuate the space, blending eras and styles. To address the asymmetry revealed by the cantilevered beams after the walls were removed, metal sheet shelving was custom-designed to conceal these irregularities. The addition of houseplants on the shelving brings a touch of nature into the interior.

In the kitchen, Freijó wood cabinetry continues the visual language, offering cohesion across spaces. Marble countertops add sophistication, while a central island -rounded at the edges and clad in terracotta-colored tiles- provides a softer contrast to the apartment’s orthogonal architecture. This island also functions as a practical space for quick meals. The kitchen flows directly into the dining area, encouraging easy interaction between cooking and socializing during gatherings.

Lighting Design & Materials

Lighting throughout the apartment is achieved with electrified tracks, which illuminate the exposed concrete slabs while preserving their aesthetic integrity. In the bedroom, a neutral palette creates a serene environment conducive to rest. White walls and wooden-finish furnishings echo the warmth of the social areas, while the suite continues the same inviting tone. In the bathroom, ceramic tiles offer a gentle chromatic transition: terracotta at the base rising into white above, creating a subtle interplay of texture that continues across the countertop. A sink in the same terracotta tone, paired with a wooden cabinet, completes the harmonious design.

Past legacies

Forefathers is a contemporary food-and-beverage venture that celebrates ancestral ways of life through modern design. Conceived by a group of young entrepreneurs, the brand reinterprets traditional regional cuisine and architecture, pairing vernacular materials with current construction techniques to achieve a refined, sophisticated ambience.

Context Integration

Located on Road No. 45 in Jubilee Hills -Hyderabad’s premier destination for high-end restaurants and clubs -the project occupies a concrete–steel composite shell comprising a ground floor, two upper storeys, and a mezzanine inserted within a triple-height volume. Commercial buildings flank the plot on either side, while a community park with dense vegetation borders the rear.

Visitors enter between tall, angled walls that frame a 25-foot-high pitched-roof canopy. This volume tapers to a 12-foot flat-roofed reception zone before opening into a dramatic 40-foot-tall interior hall. The progression concludes beneath a 28-foot pitched roof in a semi-open backyard. The orchestrated sequence creates a seamless flow and clarifies the building’s composition.

Roof & Landscape Design

The structure comprises three generous gabled canopies clad in terracotta tiles. The front and rear canopies remain semi-open, their roofs supported by branching steel columns that evoke trees. Square glass inserts punctuate the terracotta, animating arrival zones with shifting patterns of light and shadow. The central canopy -soaring to 40 feet- melds steel and concrete to hold a multi-level dining hall, performance area, and glimpses into the first-floor kitchen. A mezzanine with a bar project through glass walls toward the backyard, visually stitching indoor and outdoor realms.

The project’s landscape strategy elevates freestanding seating pods at varied heights in the rear yard, fostering privacy without walls. Water features and planted pockets weave between these platforms, while a live kitchen and composite glass-and-tile roofs generate dappled daylight that evolves throughout the day.

Material Palette & Lighting

Handmade bricks, terracotta tiles, and fly-ash blocks anchor the project in local craft and low-embodied-energy materials, whereas contemporary concrete and steel framing provide precision and stability. A restrained palette -primarily terracotta- yields a timeless minimalism; nuanced brick patterns supply texture and complexity within that uniformity.

At the heart of the lighting scheme, Baaya Design Studio suspends sculptural fabric cubes that showcase Telangana’s traditional crafts -Kalamkari, Pochampally ikat, and leather puppetry. The installation bridges heritage and modernity, echoing Forefathers’ mission to resonate with today’s audiences while honoring the past.

Through this integrated approach, the bar-restaurant manifests a dialogue between old and new, crafting an atmosphere where culinary and architectural narratives alike celebrate the legacy of forebears in a contemporary context.

Transitional axis

The project concerns the conversion of a ground floor warehouse space, on the ring road of Thessaloniki, into the offices of a multinational company.

Design Philosophy

The goal is to create a dynamic work environment that serves as a reference point for employees- a “third space” between home and the office -fostering a new kind of sociability. The trapezoidal layout allows for natural light from two sides, shaping the functional floor plan. The 1,000m² office space is organized into three zones: a peripheral zone along the building’s exterior, a central core, and a movement axis connecting them. Open workspaces are strategically placed along the naturally lit sides, while the triangular core houses large meeting rooms and ancillary facilities such as restrooms and storage areas. The workspace is further divided into sections, incorporating small meeting rooms to accommodate employees’ daily needs.

Material Palette

The project embraces a contemporary aesthetic with earthy tones, balancing natural and synthetic textures through deliberate contrasts. The three zones of the floor plan are visually distinguished by varying finishes on both floors and vertical surfaces. At the entrance and along the main circulation corridor, wood-look flooring enhances warmth and flow, while carpeting in the work areas helps absorb vibrations. In the cafeteria, concrete-look tiles provide a sleek, durable finish. To optimize acoustics and conceal mechanical installations, plasterboard suspended ceilings are installed across the building’s largest surface. Walls feature a mix of white and grey paint, wood paneling, vertical gardens, and glass partition systems, creating a dynamic yet cohesive environment.

Plan & Lighting Design

The work zone is separated from the movement axis by vertical blinds and flowerbeds, creating a sense of definition while maintaining openness. Careful attention was given to lighting, air conditioning, and soundproofing to ensure a comfortable and efficient workspace. The canteen and playrooms serve as key areas that encourage a shift in activities, fostering a more dynamic work experience. These spaces not only support remote work culture but also redefine the office as a hub for both productivity and social interaction.

White curves

The project takes advantage of its diagonal views toward a lake on the La Moraleja golf course in Madrid. Given the size of the site, the design proposes a residence that develops primarily on a single floor.

Spatial Organization

The daytime living areas are arranged in two volumes of varying heights, offset from one another, creating a sheltered terrace that faces the landscape and is oriented southeast. The main volume reaches a height of nearly one and a half stories. A third volume houses the nighttime areas, strategically positioned to offer a private outdoor space of its own. The interplay of the three volumes forms an entrance courtyard, oriented to the north, which adds a distinctive character to the entry experience. The geometry of the design serves a structural function, allowing for unobstructed views of the landscape without the need for supports. This flexibility ensures that the spaces can adapt to future uses and occupants.

On the lower level, the home features spaces dedicated to physical well-being, including a swimming pool, gym, and other complementary areas, all illuminated by a skylight. Each volume is defined by rounded edges, adding a dynamic visual quality. These curved elements are incorporated into the open terrace areas, facilitating construction while ensuring that all interiors remain orthogonal.

Material Palette & Lighting

The project’s material palette utilizes a wide spectrum of whites with warm undertones. These range from Colmenar’s natural stone to the ash wood found in Madrid’s forests, as well as various shades of brass close to RAL 9016 and lighting temperatures around 2,700K. The goal was to achieve an integrated heterogeneity that would promote a sense of calm within the home’s spaces.

Design Philosophy

Inspired by Andreu Alfaro’s work, the main section of the house becomes a continuous journey, where the swimming pool flows into the terrace, which then integrates with the facades of the built volumes, ultimately closing the loop back to the pool. This design highlights one of the residence’s key functions: to be appreciated not only as a space to inhabit but as a structure to be observed and experienced.

Meeting point

FEAC Engineering is an engineering and consulting firm, specializing in simulation-driven product development and physics-based Digital Twins. The 320m2 office renovation prioritizes natural light, transforming the space into a vibrant, inviting environment.

Functional Layout

With only one facade providing sunlight, the design merges private offices with an open workspace, creating a fluid transition between areas. A custom-designed, partially parametric reception area serves as a social hub, reflecting the company’s digital twin focus. The meeting room is equipped with cutting-edge technology and acoustic panels for privacy, while whiteboards throughout the office promote collaboration. The private offices, designed as symmetrical “twins,” enhance continuity, and the kitchen break-out area fosters teamwork with a playful, basketball-themed lighting fixture. The Think Tank area is positioned next to a balcony and features sleek, modern furniture adaptable for both casual conversations and meetings.

Materials & Lighting

All lighting and metal panels are custom-made and are complemented by uncoated sections of the ceiling, preserving the space’s existing material character.
Biophilic Design

Biophilic design plays a key role in the proposal, which features carefully integrated greenery that blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor. Transparent private offices and meeting rooms maintain visual connectivity, while acoustic panels act as discreet dividers. The modular layout supports both individual work and teamwork, offering flexible spaces for meetings, brainstorming, and relaxation. The design fosters an inspiring, energetic environment where employees feel connected, motivated, and ready to collaborate.

Uninterrupted movement

The logistics center is situated on a 27,000-square-meter plot, strategically positioned near the National Highway, Attiki Odos, and the center of Athens. Its location ensures the seamless and efficient transportation of shipments via the port of Piraeus, Athens International Airport, and the national road network. The building’s external form is directly shaped by its function, allowing the various uses and transitions within the building to be clearly “read” from the outside.

Functional Layout

The urban planning parameters of the area allowed for the development of a ground-level sorting hub with a minimum area of 10,000 m². This space was designed to offer maximum flexibility for loading and unloading -a core operational requirement for the company- as well as a large underground parking facility. All primary operations have been consolidated into a single building.

With a total built area of 33,000 m², the facility is organized across three levels. The basement houses a spacious parking area with a capacity for 242 vehicles and infrastructure for electric vehicle charging, functioning as a fully integrated extension of the ground floor, where the main sorting center is located. Adjacent to the main entrance is the customer service area, where the company’s new corporate identity for its retail network was implemented for the first time. On the upper level, the building hosts administrative and staff offices, meeting and presentation rooms with a capacity of 250 people, as well as dining facilities for employees.

Design Philosophy

The project’s primary objective was to create a modern and highly functional sorting hub capable of meeting the company’s growing needs. The uninterrupted and efficient flow of goods within the facility was paramount, especially given the presence of large-scale sorting machinery and the high number of loading and unloading docks along the building’s perimeter. These requirements became the core around which the design process was structured. The facility follows a clear rectangular footprint of 120mx 82m. Within this framework, a system of conveyor belts distributes shipments to and from the perimeter docks. The innovative steel structural system enables reduced column dimensions, allowing for larger open spans, which enhance the building’s flexibility and operational efficiency.

Sustainability Approach & Lighting

Energy efficiency and environmental performance were key design drivers, resulting in a Net-Zero Energy Building certified in the A+ category. Photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 1MW have been installed on the building’s roof, significantly offsetting the annual electricity consumption. The building also allows for independent operation of each functional unit, optimizing energy consumption based on usage patterns. All machinery and equipment were selected based on their energy efficiency and performance.

Natural daylighting is maximized through the use of light tubes in all office areas and selected common spaces. High-efficiency LED lighting, controlled by occupancy and motion sensors, provides artificial illumination in common areas and the parking garage. In addition, a comprehensive monitoring system was installed to oversee critical energy consumption points, allowing for continuous optimization of the building’s energy performance.

During the construction phase, significant archaeological findings were uncovered. Two major artifacts have been preserved and are now on display within the basement, while, in collaboration with the archaeological service, additional methods are being explored to showcase smaller ceramic findings discovered on-site.

Contrasting pairs

Ergon Bakehouse is a unique destination that seamlessly blends a hotel, bakery, shop, and restaurant. Located in the heart of Athens’ historic center, it occupies a listed building designed by Vassilis Tsagris at the turn of the twentieth century, offering a multi-dimensional experience in both gastronomy and hospitality.

Existing Building

The building was once home to residences and offices, with the ground floor serving as a commercial space. An exemplary representation of classical Athenian architecture, it has been carefully preserved, with the new design seamlessly integrated into its structure. Today, elements of the building’s aesthetic and functional history are still visible, including ornate plaster decorations, one of the original staircases, and the elevator.

Functional Layout

From the main entrance to the rooms, the design revolves around the life cycle of dough and the ambiance of a traditional oven. On the ground floor, the 72H Artisanal Bakery prepares and bakes bread and other goods, each benefiting from 72 hours of “resting.” The striking storefront invites visitors into three distinct areas: the shop, which sells ingredients for homemade baked goods; the cooking area; and the 72H Lab, a prep space with open-plan workshops visible through existing openings -a feature rarely seen in more conventional bakeries.

At the center of the building is the entrance, which leads to three key zones: the shop and 72H Eatery, the hotel reception, and the waiting area. Two staircases and two lifts serve the space- one of which is preserved, while the other is newly added to accommodate increased foot traffic. The room layout spans three floors, blending seamlessly with the building’s original architecture, following the facade’s openings to create spacious interiors. Each room is designed to reflect elements of an oven and professional kitchen, featuring dark firebrick, wall paneling, stainless steel worktops, and linen fabrics that complete the overall aesthetic.

Custom Structures & Lighting

Internal shades were incorporated as a blackout solution, seamlessly integrated into the existing openings to control light and create a serene, welcoming atmosphere. The deybed, a distinctive feature of the room, serves both as an additional bed and a resting surface, a traditional element found in Greek homes that enhances functionality. The lighting is minimal, with spot and targeted fixtures providing focused illumination. A system of thin stainless steel tubes runs throughout the room, offering a versatile solution. Due to structural reinforcements in the outer perimeter walls, running wiring through them was not possible; instead, cables are routed through the tubes, which also support both the lighting and fabric suspension system.

Exotic ambiance

The restaurant’s design draws deeply from the vivid colours, textures, and ambiance of Moroccan marketplaces and the Mediterranean region.

Design Philosophy

The space is anchored by a central U-shaped bar, serving as the heart of the restaurant, while an open-concept kitchen adds to the inviting and dynamic atmosphere. The client’s legacy was woven into the design through artifacts and furnishings from a previous restaurant, enhancing the narrative of continuity and personal history.

Material Palette & Decorations

Warm wood tones and blonde wood finishes are layered with brass accents to establish a tactile and visually engaging material palette. Custom lighting fixtures, including tassel lights and sculptural sconces, are thoughtfully placed to serve both functional and artistic purposes, enhancing the overall ambiance. The repetition of architectural elements, such as elegant arches, creates a sense of rhythm and timeless sophistication. Real plants are incorporated throughout the space, bringing freshness and vibrancy to the interior.

Custom Structures

The seating areas feature custom banquettes that combine varied upholstery, intricate screen accents, and detailed leg designs. Each piece was chosen with care to reflect the Mediterranean inspiration while prioritizing comfort and style. Lighting acts as a focal point, with carefully designed fixtures creating defined spaces and highlighting key architectural features. Every element of the design is intended to immerse diners in a Mediterranean-inspired retreat. From the detailed textures to the curated artifacts, the space offers a sensory-rich experience that harmonizes beauty with functionality. The project embodies Mediterranean charm and modern elegance, ensuring a memorable and timeless dining atmosphere.

Functional differentiation

The project aim was the design of a private institute with a total area of 486m2 in the village of Deftera, a semi-urban region near Nicosia.

Architectural Elements

The design concept emphasizes a clear separation between communal spaces and private classrooms. The building’s program includes a reception area, six classrooms, a computer room, a conference room, and a study room. Movable partitions are installed on the ground floor, enabling the classrooms to be combined into two larger spaces when needed.

Functional Organization

The northern outdoor courtyard serves as a space for both relaxation and educational activities. The design concept is based on the vertical division of pure prism shape into two sections, with the common areas positioned in between. These spaces feature double-height ceilings and transparent walls on both sides, allowing natural light and views of the surrounding landscape to permeate the building, thus creating a seamless connection between the exterior and interior. The common areas are intended for socialization and integration within the educational environment, while the classrooms offer a private, focused setting for teaching -both elements being equally important to the educational experience and central to the overall design concept.

Façade Design & Materials

Finally, emphasis was placed on the project’s scale and the strategic use of color to create a welcoming, user-friendly environment. The interior design is enhanced by lighting and acoustics to optimize the functionality of the building and its various spaces. Exterior blinds play a key role on the southern façade, controlling natural light and managing both the interior and exterior visibility of the classrooms, while also creating a dynamic interplay of views and colors of the façade.

Transitional spaces

The private vacation home is located on the western side of Antiparos, facing the sea, enjoying unobstructed views of the nearby island of Paros.

Design Approach

Antiparos keeps limited exposure to mass tourism, and the visitors, the island caters to for seasonal stay require their vacation homes to be equipped with the same amenities they are accustomed to from living in the city. Concurrently, the site is bound by strict building regulations regarding the form and materials of new constructions, because of its adjacency to the vernacular Ayia Kyriaki chapel.

Interior & Exterior Organization

The building is laid out on one level only, bringing together the seasonal inhabitants and the outstanding Cycladic landscape. The floors extend seamlessly from the indoor to the outdoor areas; this connection is further highlighted by generous transitional spaces, sheltered under pergolas. The openings, whose number and size had to be kept limited due to local regulations, provide views and outdoor connections to all the main rooms; dark shutters on their inner side are consistent with the local building tradition. The lounge, the kitchen, and the master bedroom are oriented towards the view, together with the outdoor living spaces and the swimming pool.

Material & Lighting

Inside, all walls are clad in grey facing applied by hand; strategically positioned openings on the ceiling bring abundant natural light to the interior, illustrating the rustic treatment of the vertical surfaces, whose appearance changes according to the time of the day. The color palette of the furniture includes opposing black and white tones, complemented by the texture of natural wood and woven straw. The hard surface of the floor is treated in cement facing and comes at a stark contrast to the natural sloping ground.

Artisanal local stone on the exterior surface of the walls, matched with sensible, discreet landscaping, complete the architectural impression, whose objective is to remain consistent with the principles of traditional island building. The biggest challenge in this project was to merge tradition with modernity, high architectural aesthetics with cutting-edge mechanical equipment; at all times, the reference had to be the sparse Cycladic landscape, local materials and relaxed island living.
