The project involves the luxurious renovation of a 220m² sixth-floor apartment, focusing on maximizing space utilization as well as responding to the clients’ needs while emphasizing the apartment’s expansive scale.

 

Spatial Organization

The space is divided into two distinct zones, each with its own entrance, connected by a long corridor. The first zone features an open-plan layout that includes the main hallway as well as the living room, kitchen, and dining area, all arranged around a central fireplace. This zone also includes a wc,  a utility room, and a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. Additionally, it is surrounded by a 120m² terrace offering uninterrupted views of the urban landscape, the Kaisariani forest, and the Attic sky, complete with a bar and barbecue area.

The second zone is more introspective and serene and comprises of a second hallway, a bedroom and a bathroom as well as a hybrid space that can function as either a second bedroom or a living room defined by two angled and translucent sliding doors.

 

Design Elements

One key design objective is to emphasize open spaces by removing unnecessary walls while retaining those essential for defining core functions. The use of transparency, tall partitions, hidden doors, continuous flooring, and mirrors further enhances and reinforces the concept of openness throughout the space.

 

Material Palette

The floors, walls and custom elements are mainly clad in natural materials: solid oak, American walnut, white Dionysus marble, black burnt granite and gold and ivory onyx. At the same time, the use of innovative materials such as copper and mirror formica laminate ceiling finishes, translucent surfaces, distinct wallpapers and glass provide an overall contemporary and conceptual edge to the project.
