This 104 m² area brunch restaurant in the city of Taichung in Taiwan is named Heng Jih which means forever sunny in Mandarin. They provide fresh, healthy hand-made Taiwanese food then present it creatively in a western style. Therefore the brightness is essential in the interior. The interior style is a combination of Asian and western. A large number of French glass windows are incorporated which really lights up the room.
Considering this is a commercial space, the materials used here need to be easy to maintain such as wall tiles, stainless steel working surface and cement finish floor. The large use of white kitchen tiles not only provide a clean, neat and bright feeling into the room, but are also very easy to clean and are far more difficult to stain. The expanded white steel mesh is an ideal material to create the bowl storage hanging from the ceiling that can make the air circulating and keep them dry. By using the pine plywood-made tables it gives that natural feeling. Finally, the on-trend black and white hexagonal tiles complete the character of the space.
