The project refers to the architectural study and design of an open-plan space for hosting events, meetings and workshops in Keramikos. The concept derives from the aesthetics of Athenian office spaces and public institutions during the late 70s and 80s.
By maintaining a considerable part of existing materials, the architects proposed a cool-toned space to create a corporate environment and introduced a long-forgotten icon of non-residential room, the vertical fabric blinds. Blinds were placed not only next to windows, but also inside the open space to act as separators. Movable louvers with tinted glass were selected to separate the kitchen from the main resting area, in order to stress the industrial feeling of the building and provide a bespoke character to the space.
