Elastic has received three distinctions at the AHEAD Americas 2026 Awards for the extensive redesign of Delano Miami Beach, marking a significant international recognition for the architecture and design studio within the hospitality sector.
The project was awarded in the Hotel Renovation and Lobby categories, while the redesigned Rose Bar received the award for Bar, Club or Lounge.
Reworking an established hospitality identity
Originally opened in 1947, Delano Miami Beach became an international hospitality reference point following its transformation in 1995. Its latest renovation addresses a property with an established architectural identity and a strong association with the cultural history of Miami Beach.
Elastic’s approach is based on retaining recognizable elements of the hotel while introducing a contemporary layer across its public areas, guestrooms and social spaces. Bespoke furniture, sculptural elements and artworks are integrated throughout the interiors, while the guestrooms are conceived as quieter spaces focused on privacy and retreat.
The Rose Bar, one of the hotel’s best-known spaces, has also been reinterpreted as part of the wider redesign. Its separate recognition at the AHEAD Americas Awards highlights the role of food, beverage and social spaces within the overall repositioning of the property.

International hospitality portfolio
The Delano Miami Beach project extends Elastic’s work within the international hospitality market. Founded by Ria Xenou and Alexandros Xenos, the studio’s portfolio includes collaborations with hospitality brands including Aman, One&Only, Rosewood, Four Seasons, Delano, Nobu and Nammos, with projects across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.
The hotel is owned by Cain International and operated by Ennismore. The three AHEAD Americas distinctions add to Elastic’s international track record and highlight the increasing geographical reach of a practice whose work combines architecture, interior design and the design of hospitality experiences.
