Drawn from a correlation between lighting and jewellery, Arrangements is a modular system of geometric light elements in painted matt black aluminium that can be combined in different ways, creating multiple poetic compositions into individual chandeliers. Each unit simply attaches onto the previous one as if resting, balancing perfectly as part of a glowing chain.
A dovetail joint easily allows the intersection of one element into the other. Units are connected electrically and mechanically through a cutting edge technical component, specifically customized and certificated for Arrangements, that allow the continuous power source run throughout the entire chain. Each combination can be changed any time, with a different order, type or quantity of elements, with no need of technical assistance.
Flos partnered with the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens to create an exclusive installation of Arrangements, designed by Michael Anastassiades and curated by Afroditi Gonou and Atalanti Martinou.
Along with the project that fills the museum’s foyer and Cycladic Cafè with light, a public lecture by Michael, on the subject of ‘Working with Light’, was scheduled on Thursday 17th January at the Cycladic Auditorium.
