Chromatic Spaces

The 250m² apartment is developed within the high quality sustainable residential project ‘CEG Schwarzwald’, surrounded by 20,000 trees and high-rise buildings, in the heart of Shanghai. Using vibrant colour schemes and clear geometries, the space is characterised by an energetic and stimulant atmosphere, with curved elements that add a sense of comfort and cosiness to the loft-like layout.
Upon entering the apartment, a vertical element of slats, reminiscent of traditional Chinese folding-screens, filter the views of the dining area and skyline background with a spirit of calmness. Τhe kitchen is placed at the centre of the unified communal space, with transparent glazing that allows for intense cooking free of unpleasant odours, as well as direct visual contact. Next to it, a high-pile carpet and a conical red lamp mark the dining area. Strong coloured pillars and embracing shelves and storage form sculptural volumes throughout the communal space. Interspaces arising between the pillars and façade create valuable private retreats, aided by soft carpets, classic premium furniture and eye-catching built-ins.
The breath-taking views of the metropolis dominate the sitting area. A ceiling recess in yellow nuances zones the space and enhances the effect of a fluent transition to the exterior, while a textured deep blue wall provides a striking high contrast. Carefully matched colour schemes and exciting contrasts recur in the bedrooms, where curved walls and a masterful mix of materials create a premium and cosy atmosphere. Arranged along the façade, the bathrooms with floor-to-ceiling glazing offer views of the city, reflecting its colours indoors with metallic mosaic tiles. Lastly, the bedrooms’ spacious balconies also provide fantastic views of the Chinese megapolis.
