300 Issues of ek

With this anniversary issue, we celebrate an important milestone: 30 years of ek architectural publications. In the professional journey of an architect, the age of thirty is marked by momentum and creativity, signifying the transition from the period of the young creator to that of the mature professional who, with each new project, shapes their identity.
In the course of an architectural publication, correspondingly, the achievement of 30 years of uninterrupted presence confirms a professional consistency founded on the personal and collective dedication of its contributors. It represents pages filled with works and creators, some of whom defined an era, as well as new voices that found a platform for expression. It marks three decades of continuous documentation, promotion, and dialogue with both the Greek and international architectural scene.
The contribution of ek architectural publications to the documentation of Greek architecture is particularly significant. The body of published works -comprising drawings, photographs, and texts- forms a rich archive that preserves much of the architectural production of the last thirty years, providing tools and material for research, education, and architectural historiography in Greece. Included in this archive, beyond the monthly and annual issues, are also the book editions of architectural events organized with great success every December, honoring the collective work of major Greek architectural offices.
Beyond being an archival repository and a source of information, ek publications have consistently served as a platform for showcasing new talented creators and emerging trends in the fields of design and construction. Like a manuscript written over decades, ek magazine marks this anniversary issue by presenting the dynamic new generation of architects who are now taking up the baton of creation. This generation, in their own right, will shape architectural thought and practice in Greece in the years to come, adding pages filled with ‘messages’ for the future of Greek architecture. The decision, therefore, to dedicate the 300th issue to the new generation of Greek architects is both a symbolic and a substantial choice.
