The residence is a two storey building. Two retaining walls cut across the entire width of the plot forming terraces with plateaus for the structure. The first retaining wall forms the area for the ground floor to expand on, the second for the first floor. At the same time the second retaining wall intersects the ground floor to create a strip of light between the eastern and western gardens. The structural reference grid is formed by a vertical axis that intersects the land’s main axes. The vertical axis is the core of/draws/draws the line of primary movement/plane of primary movement, while the second retaining wall determines/draws/receives all secondary vertical movement. The point of intersection of all axes is also the prime point of vertical motion/movement. Two bodies of mass define the building’s structural form. The axes form the basis for the form of the ground floor. It expands on either side of them, and is architecturally punctuated by the roof that juts-out like a concrete/stone slab. The ground floor axis of movement is a functional divider, forming boundaries of privacy that distinguishes the communal areas from the private sector and the summer living room from the winter living room. The mass of the first floor structure overhangs the floor below, bridging the ground floor stretch of open space that results from the secondary retaining wall. By means of augmenting the expanse of the first floor over the ground floor loft, the need for balconies is eliminated. On the ground floor lies the winter living area, to the left of which lies the summer sitting room which extends to the swimming pool, in continuation the kitchen and corridor that leads to a various auxiliary rooms (wc – laundry). The entrance to the master bedroom is through the same corridor. On the same axis lies the dining hall and the vertical axis of movement that leads to the second floor. The dormitories and bathroom of the younger members of the family lie here.
